Laboratoire Sciences Analytiques, Bioanalytiques et Miniaturisation

Research objectives of analytical chemists are strongly dependant on asks from the society. In many areas (health, drug design, food safety, environment) the common needs are the development of rapid methods, with low costs, easy to use on the field or in vivo, environmentally friendly (low amount of organic solvent) that can be handled from very low amount of sample (drop of blood or less). There is also a need for solving very complex samples (proteomics, natural products, petroleum products) and for trace and ultra-trace analysis in complex samples.
In order to answer to these demands, the "Analytical and Bioanalytical Sciences and Miniaturization" team headed by Prof. V. Pichon has focussed its research on the development of multidimensional chromatographic modes for solving complex samples and on the development of highly selective extraction sorbents for trace analysis. Miniaturization has been also considered as an answer to rapid analysis from low amount of samples with development of fully integrated nanoliquid chromatography based methods but also electrokinetic and gas chromatography on chip.
